Louis Allen "Lou" Devillers

Age 85, passed away on July 6, 2025, at the Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira, NY.

Lou was born in Maryland, NY to Rene and Eleanor Devillers. He went to school at Schenevus Central High and graduated in 1957. He went on to earn a BS degree in Accounting from Harpur College (SUNY Binghamton). He moved with his wife and daughter to Elmira in 1968 and initially worked as the CFO for Arnot Ogden Hospital until 1971, before beginning his own CPA firm, initially partnering as Devillers & Sartori, then becoming Devillers & Allen in 1974. In 1996, he formed a new CPA business, Louis Devillers, PLLC.

Lou was a celebrated amateur race car driver (SCCA – Watkins Glen), winning many state championships throughout his racing years from 1973 - 2013, and the National title for his racing class in 1992. He also enjoyed gardening, horse racing, the study of physics and history, the NY Giants football team, and was an avid apple tree growing enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife, Anna King Griffin Devillers and his daughter, Blake S. Devillers, both of Elmira; his sister-in-law, Carol DeVillers (Rene), and brother-in-law, Patrick Sheehy (Sarah), along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents (Rene and Eleanor), brother (Rene) and sister (Sarah).

While no formal services will be held, a memorial/celebration of life will occur at the Elmira City Club. For more information on that event, please contact the Elmira City Club directly.
