Lettie Evans

Age 91, passed away peacefully at Elderwood Health Care at Waverly on Friday, January 22, 2016. Lettie was born in Geneva NY a daughter of Oakley and Lena Wandell Frutchey. She was predeceased by her husband Leon E. Evans. Lettie is survived by children and their families, Sharon Haurski of Campbell NY with husband Joseph and daughter Jennifer (Lenny) Sutryk; Sheryl Patno of Pine City with husband Edward and children Dennise (Michael) Zobel and Dennis (Stephanie) Webster; Milo Osmun of Mendon UT with wife Janet and children Milo Jess (Tammy) Osmun, Shannon (Ethan) Poppelton, Julia (Jason) Stolworthy, Megan (Bryan) Baker and Shelly (Rich) Potter; Sheila Walton of Millerton PA with husband Michael and children Joel and Kacie Walton; sister Lula Sorino of Elmira and her son Richard Oldham; step children, Leon (Mary) Evans, Nancy (Larry) Riley, Connie (Gerald) Chandler, Margaret (Thomas) Wilson ; several great grandchildren. Lettie was a self-employed beautician for many years. She later went to work at St. Joseph's Hospital from where she retired. Lettie was an avid reader and in earlier years she loved to garden. Her greatest joy was time spent with family. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 West Water Street, Elmira on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7:15 p.m. Committal prayers and interment will be held at Tioga Point Cemetery. Lettie's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the fourth floor staff at Elderwood for the wonderful care they provided to her over the last few years.
