Leon Eisenhart

December 1, 1931 — September 5, 2014

Chemung: Age 82, passed away, peacefully, after battling cancer, on Friday morning, September 5, 2014 at Robert Packer Hospital. Lee was surrounded by his family and loved ones. He is predeceased by his parents Bennett W., Sr. and Monica (Mashinic) Eisenhart, daughter Cynthia Eisenhart, grandson Daniel Paradis, brother and sister-in-law Bennett W., Jr. and Loretta Eisenhart, sister and brother-in-law Carol and Larry Petsky. Lee is survived by his daughters, with their families, Bonita and Steve Paradis of Cayuta NY with children, Brenda (John) Havens and Ryan Paradis; Karen and Christopher Barnic of Horseheads with sons, Brandon and Brian; great-granddaughter Hayli Paradis; along with several nieces, nephews and friends. Lee was raised in Elmira then settled in Chemung. He worked at the Elmira Star Gazette as a printer, retiring after 35 years of service. Lee served in the National Guard for several years. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed time spent on Seneca Lake fishing and also liked to hunt and garden. Lee liked watching football and followed the Boston Red Sox. He had a soft spot in his heart for all animals. Private services will be held. Those wishing may remember Lee with a donation to the SPCA, Route 352, Elmira NY 14903.
