Lena Ann Evans

Elmira: Age 70, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. Lena was born in Elmira, a daughter of the late Harold D. and Cecelia Carboni Lockwood. Lena is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Thomas Evans Sr.; sons, William J. Evans (Jennifer) and Anthony M. Evans (Melinda Willing); daughter Karyn A. Evans; step children, Thomas Evans Jr., Robert Evans (Merranda) and Susan Marie Templar (Guy); brother Harold Lockwood; step-brother Dominic Frijo (Marsha); sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Swanson, Mary Ellen Canha and Kathy Luccarelli (Gerald); 20 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Alice McCauliffe, Carmella Frijo and Mary Ann Gugliotta; brother Frank Frijo; sister-in-law Jill Lockwood; brothers-in-law, Joseph Canah and John Swanson.

Lena was an avid reader and enjoyed researching family genealogy. Most importantly Lena enjoyed spending time with family.

Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. Committal prayers and interment will take place at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
