Lawrence J. Riley Elmira: Age 89, passed away peacefully, at his home, on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, with his loving family by his side. Larry was born, in Elmira, February 14, 1923, the son of Lawrence E. and Donna (Tolosz) Riley. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Marian Aseline Riley; children, with their families, Suzanne and Henry Splann, Elmira, with children Sheila, Henry, and John; Michael and Lloydena Riley, Elmira, with children Michael and Cecilia; Lawrence and Mae Riley, with children, Tara and Justin; Patrick and Patricia Riley, Kingston WA, with children, Patrick, Sean and Aidan; Mary and Shawn Smith, Campbell NY, with children Ashley (John) Hennekey and Ryan; Catherine and Peter Knowles, Elmira; great granddaughter Olivia Grace Hennekey. Larry was a Marine Corps veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He retired with over 30 years of service from the Elmira Correctional Facility. Larry was an avid reader of history and enjoyed watching sports on television. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Larry on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Casimir's Church. Interment, with committal prayers, will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
