Kum Dinardo

April 19, 1934 — September 2, 2013

Elmira: Age 79, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013. Kim was born April 19, 1934 in Seoul, South Korea, daughter of Kwang (Won) and Heung Kim. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph V. DiNardo and sister Chong Suk Lee. Kim is survived by her loving children, with their families, Mark and Rebecca DiNardo, Mount Airy MD, with children, Katie, Angela and Madeline; Debbie and Thomas Guenther, Rochester, NY; Kim and Matthew Leszyk, Corning, with children Emily and Ryan; brother and sister-in-law, Sop and Yun Kyung Kim, New Hampshire; sister and brother-in-law Kum Jae and Han Pak, NYC; special niece Chong Genovese, Horseheads; along with many cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews and many special friends. Kim was an avid walker and runner with Church St. and Water St., being part of her favorite route. She had been involved in the Chemung County and Empire State Senior Games for the past 18 years, winning numerous medals in many running events. Kim's most memorable accomplishment was winning a Gold Medal in the 5K run (women's 70-74 year old category) at the 2005 National Senior Games in Pittsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Kim on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. Kim's family sends a very special thank you to Father Richard Farrell, Deacons Joseph Erway, Paul Sartori and George Welch and to the wonderful staff at CareFirst Hospice and the Arnot Ogden Skilled Nursing Unit, 4D.
