Kathleen McNamara Miller, died peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026, with her husband and two daughters by her side, at the age of 79. Kathleen was born on February 20, 1947. She grew up in Ambridge, Pennsylvania and was valedictorian of her class at St. Veronica's. She went to Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania where she met her husband, Don Miller, who was a student at Gannon College. They married on June 16, 1970. Kathleen was a Montessori school teacher until moving to Burke, Virginia in 1986. She was a personal shopper at Garfinkel's department store. In 1989, she began a long and successful career in the U.S. Department of Agriculture, attaining the level of Senior Loan Officer before her retirement in 2012. Don and Kathleen were an impressive and admirable team throughout their 55-year marriage and Kathleen loved their trips to Ireland. Kathleen loved having fun, being with her family, and celebrating holidays and birthdays. Her love of jewelry and antiques led her to start her own business, Kathleen's Antiques & More. Kathleen was a devoted grandmother.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Margaret McNamara, brother Tom McNamara; and sisters-in-law, Mary B. Miller, Susan T. Miller, and Maria Regina Miller. She is survived by her husband, and true other half, Donald S. Miller; daughter Bridget Euliano and granddaughter Cecilia Euliano; daughter Colleen Stegner, son-in-law Eric Stegner, and grandsons, Thomas Stegner and Henry Stegner; sister-in-law Kathleen M. Dzura; brothers-in-law, Christopher Miller, George Gublo, and Ned Covault; and nieces, Anastasia Dzura, Natasha Dzura, Bernadette Brown, and Faithe Gublo.
Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, 224 Franklin St., Elmira will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery.
