Kathleen Flory

Katie Age 61, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 11, 2016. She was born in Elmira a daughter of the late John A. and Patricia Cahill Flory. She was also predeceased by her brother Mark Flory and infant brother Thomas Walter Flory. Katie is survived by her siblings and their families, Barbara Flory of Athens PA with children Patricia (Victor) DeLaet, Adam Lewis and John (Carrie) Lewis; John Patrick Flory of Sitka AK; Maribeth and Robert Lambert of Elmira with children Matthew (Kate), Emily (Vinh) Nguyen, Christian and Catherine Lambert; Ashley Files Flory of Takoma Park MD with daughter Grace Flory; Brian and Elizabeth Flory of Juneau AK; Teresa and Dennis Kennelly of Rochester with daughter Margaret Kennelly; great niece Jordan Miller; great nephews Connor Jack Lambert and Walter Lee Lewis; special friend Darryl Gunderman of Lowman; also extended family and good friends. All are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial for Katie on Monday, February 6, 2017, 10:00 a.m., St. Patrick's Church. Katie was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing. She worked in the operating room at St. Joseph's Hospital for several years before moving to Texas. Upon returning to Elmira, Katie worked for Chemung County for many years. She took great joy in the accomplishments of her nieces and nephews. Katie was an avid reader who found spiritual inspiration in her religion and in works ranging from Robert Frost to Tolkien: "Not all who wander are lost".
