Karen J. Hardy

Age 73, passed away peacefully, at her home on Thursday January 11, 2024, with her daughter, Kimberly by her side. Karen was the daughter of the late Richard “Buck” and Marie Jane Bennett Hardy. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Cheri Murray. Karen is survived by her daughter Kimberly Amacher with John Harding of Elmira, and son John Amacher of West Columbia SC; grandchildren, Alyssa and Cody Rubens; great grandchildren, Kavion, Emory and Lennon Rubens; siblings Tina Fadula, Kathy Ostrander, Rob, Rick and Randy Hardy.

Karen earned her associate degree in nursing and was a nurse at St. Joseph’s oncology department, then retiring from Family Services here in Elmira. A celebration of Karens life will be held at a later date in the springtime. In lieu of flowers donations in Karen’s name may be direct to the SPCA, 2435 Route 352, Elmira NY 14903.
