Age 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Robert Packer Hospital surrounded by the love of her family. Julie was born in Elmira, a daughter of Samuel and Louise Barnhart Bedrosian. She was predeceased by her husband Robert B. Lantz and sister Mary Louise Fisher. Julie is survived by son David S. Lantz (Amelia) of Riverhead NY with daughters Julia and Sofia Lantz; son Alan T. Lantz (Chimene) of Londonderry NH with children Camryn and Charlie Lantz; daughter Amy L. Lovejoy (Ronald) of Elmira with children Emily and Matthew Lovejoy (Miah Hunkele) and their sons Remington and Arlo; brother Milan Bedrosian of Fort Lauderdale FL; her feline friend and companion Butter; and a niece and two nephews.


Julie attended Don Pauldine’s beauty school and had a long career working at The Ritz Carriage Salon on Church Street. She enjoyed golfing with her husband, and they were members of Corey Creek Golf Club in Mansfield PA for many years. Julie was an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels, the Arctic League, and she collected for the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society. A pet lover Julie donated frequently to the Chemung County SPCA. She was an enthusiastic member of Daughters of the American Revolution. Mom enjoyed making soups for the Tuesday Luncheon at the First Baptist Church where she was a long-time member. She loved baking and cooking for her family, friends and neighbors. Julie and Bob spent many years enjoying the winter months and warm weather in Naples and Ponce Inlet, FL together. Julie was a beautiful, kind and loving soul, and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.




Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. Burial will take place on Friday at Woodlawn Cemetery. Those wishing may remember Julie with a donation to the Chemung County SPCA, 2435 State Route 352, Elmira NY 14903.
