Age 86, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. Joe was born in South Bend IN, a son of Joseph H. and Mollie (Moore) Flemming. In addition to his parents Joe is predeceased by his grandson David "Tripp" White III. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Suzanne Liddy Flemming; daughters, Michelle "Missy" White of Farmington NY with her children, Molly and Riley White; Mary-Kathryn "Kathy" Flemming-Diacatos of Victor NY with her children, Betsy and Michael Diacatos; brothers and sister-in-law, Charles and Madonna Flemming of Florida and Kevin Flemming of Leesburg VA; sister Maureen Lane of Manlius NY; sister-in-law Jean Liddy of Naperville IL; twenty beloved nieces and nephews. Joe was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from Hardinge Inc. as Vice President of Sales with over 35 years of service. Joe was a devout Catholic and a longtime communicant of St. Mary's Church in Elmira. He was an avid golfer and bridge player. Joe had been a long time member of the Corning County Club where he had volunteered for the LPGA Corning Classic for many years. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 26, 2017, 10:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., St. Mary's Church, Elmira. Interment, with committal prayers and military honors, will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
