John Flynn

Elmira: Age 56, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015. John was born in Elmira on March 29, 1958, a son of the late Julia (Frawley) and James A. Flynn. He is also predeceased by his sister-in-law Joanne M. Flynn. John is survived by his brother Kevin M. Flynn of Elmira with daughters, Michelle (Dave) Briggs and Colleen Flynn; sister Peggy Flynn-Cook of Greensboro NC with children, Garrett and Julia Cook; grand-nieces, Lashey and Onah Harris; close friends, Wendy Gent and Frank Renko; canine companion "Sigmund". John was a 1976 graduate of Notre Dame High School, continuing his education at Corning Community College. For several years he was a self-employed carpenter. John then went to work for Fastenal where he was a salesman. He worked for them in both New York and Florida. John was an avid sports fan enjoying all sports without an allegiance to any one team or sport. He also enjoyed running and would be seen running the streets of Elmira with his dog Sigmund. Funeral services will be private.
