John Gordon Belmonte

John Gordon Belmonte, born in Elmira, NY, passed away on July 22, 2024 at the age of 67. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend.

John is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Brenda, his daughter, Emily (Tommy) Keebler of Corning, NY, son, Josh Belmonte of Elmira, and his cherished grandson, Glenn, who was the light of his life. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Marjorie Van Alstine, siblings, Bonnie Belmonte, Brenda Gauss, Robert Belmonte, Lorra Gluck, Deanna Berthod, sisters-in-law Debbie Burgey, Wendy (Bill) Bailey and Sue Belmonte, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

John was predeceased by his mother Virginia Belmonte; father James Belmonte along with William King, father-in-law Arthur VanAlstine, and brothers, James Joseph and Jeffery Alan.

John treasured family above all else. He held a variety of vocations, including over 20 years with friends at Toshiba. He was a fixer of all things, always willing to go out of his way to help others.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at the Harris Hill Youth Camp on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. We invite all who knew and loved John to stop by with happy memories, love and laughter. Food and drink will be provided.
