Joanne Marie Johnston

Joanne M. Johnston, 84, of Horseheads, NY, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of August 30, 2025, after courageously facing a series of serious health challenges.

Joanne is survived by her son, Don Kucmierowski; sisters, Nancy Couzzo, Betsy Lamb, and Margaret Johansson; grandchildren, Kat Page and Kyle Kucmierowski; and great-grandchildren, Lily Page and Zoey Page. She is predeceased by her late husbands, Ronald Kucmierowski and Robert Johnston; younger brother William Lamb; and parents Elizabeth (Donovan) and Kenneth Lamb.

Joanne M. Johnston was born in Glen Cove, Long Island, NY to parents Kenneth and Elizabeth Lamb.

Affectionately known as “Jo” or “Big Jo,” Joanne was the heart of her family—a beloved sister, devoted mother, dedicated grandmother, doting great-grandmother, and loyal friend. Though small in stature, she carried an unmistakable presence: a quiet strength, gracious nature, and a radiant warmth that touched everyone around her. She was, in every way, the spirited embodiment of Irish light. She will be lovingly remembered for her unwavering dependability, her unyielding resilience, and the deep devotion she freely gave to those around her.
