Age 69, passed away at home with his family by his side on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. Jerry was born in Elmira, NY and was a long time resident of Big Flats. He is survived by his wife Nancy of 42 years; sons Sean Larrabee, Stow, OH and Patrick Larrabee (Lynette DeMuth) Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Hope and Seth Larrabee, Stow, OH; brother Joseph Larrabee (Rico Rapisora) Hadley, NY; sister Theresa Creed (Edward) Solana Beach, CA; in-laws, Rita Larrabee Amelia Island, FL, Susan Dunlop Ithaca NY, Jim Dunlop (Joyce) Calgary, Alberta; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Willis I. and Isabelle Lisi Larrabee and brother, retired U.S. Army Col. Willis F. "Bill" Larrabee. Jerry was a 1965 graduate of Southside High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1965-68 with a tour in Vietnam. Jerry was the former President and owner of United Fire Equipment for over 30 years. Jerry was a great friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed life to the utmost and had a kind word and joke for everyone. Jerry loved his semi-annual "North/South" golf adventures, hunting, the "Hollow" get togethers, traveling to Aruba, Nova Scotia, and other vacation spots. Jerry was a member and volunteer of many organizations, including the Kiwanis Club, Elmira College Booster Club, Big Flats American Legion and White Eagles. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home on Monday February 8, 2016 from 4 to 7 pm. A funeral service will follow at 7:15 pm. Graveside committal prayers, with military honors will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 am at Rural Home Cemetery in Big Flats.
