Jeffrey Harter

Jeffrey G. Harter Wellsburg: Age 40 passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 after a very brief illness. Jeff was born in Elmira on January 22, 1971 the son of John M. and Sandra Bennett Harter of Horseheads. In addition to his parents, Jeff is survived by his companion, and best friend, Jennifer L. Mallory with her daughter Katelyn; brother and sister-in-law, Michael J. and Monica Harter of Corning with their children, Caitlin, McKenzie and Corey; brother Joseph W. Harter of Elmira Heights with his son Kyle; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his two faithful dogs, Smithers and Dolly. Jeff has been a Chemung County Corrections Officer since 1996. He was an avid fisherman and a die hard NY Yankees fan. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Sts., on Saturday, July 30, 2011 from 12:00 noon to 2:45 p.m. A prayer service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Private interment at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery will be held at a later date.
