Jeff's life was characterized by an abiding love for family, science fiction, technology, and a remarkable talent for fixing computers and anything else that crossed his path.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Donald E. Hafler and Rosalie A. (Klinkiewicz) Hafler. He is survived by his son, Jarred (Christina) Hafler, residing in Aurora, Colorado, along with his three cherished granddaughters: Emma (8), Kayleigh (5), and Brianna (3). His extended family includes a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and more. Of special note is his deep connection with his nephew Brandon Battersby, a relationship so profound that only Heaven can truly describe.
Born in Honesdale, PA, Jeff graduated from Thomas A. Edison High School in 1976. A proud Air Force veteran and civil servant, Jeff served as an Electronic Technician. He found fulfillment in deployments, such as the one to Honduras, where he not only applied his technical expertise but also contributed to repairing schools and engaging with children in need.
For many years, Jeff resided in Colorado with his family, embracing activities like softball, bowling, and relishing the scenic beauty of the mountains. Later he returned to Elmira to care for his Grandma Klink and his parents, exemplifying a selfless devotion to family.
