Jeanette L. Titus

Age 73 of Elmira, passed away at home with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 after a brief illness. Jeanette was born in Canton PA a daughter of the late Eugene W. and Doris (Foster) Lawrence. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Paul J. Titus; sons, Jason P. Titus of Elmira and Martin J. Titus of Trumansburg; brothers and sister-in-law, Gene Jr. and Doreen Lawrence of Elmira, Glenn Lawrence of Horseheads; sister Teresa Lawrence with Chuck Starkweather of Elmira; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joan and Mike Welch, Mark and Colleen Titus, Deb and PJ White all of Bradenton FL. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins.

Jeanette was a 1967 graduate of Southside High School. Jeanette and Paul were married in 1970 at St. Mary's Church in Elmira by Father Michael Reagan. She loved music of all kinds. Jeanette played the clarinet and sang in high school where her music teacher, Bob Rozelle, had a big influence in her love for music. She was a selfless person and a family first person. Jeanette and Paul loved to travel and most recently in their travel trailer. She loved auto racing with NASCAR being her favorite venue. She loved to play board games and work in her garden. Jeanette retired as an executive secretary after 34 years with the Elmira City School District working primarily at Riverside School.

Per Jeanette's request there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer. Those wishing may remember Jeanette with a donation to the Chemung County Humane Society and SPCA, 2435 State Route 352, Elmira NY 14903.

A Celebration of Jeanette's Life will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Ancient Order of Hibernian Clubhouse, 701 Kinyon Street, Elmira.

A Mass, remembering Jeanette, will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023, 9:00 a.m., St. Mary's Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira.
