Jasper Daly

At the age of 15, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Robert Packer Hospital. Jasper was born in Portland OR to Thomas W. Daly, Jr. and Amy Marie Winkels. The family moved to Corning when Jasper was in third grade. In addition to his parents Jasper is survived by sisters, Violet Mary and Rose Marie Daly; maternal grandparents, John and Sheila Winkels of Rochester MN; paternal grandparents, Thomas W., Sr. and Maureen Daly of Elmira; aunts and uncles, Timothy and Michelle Winkels of Rochester MN, Jodi and Andrew Jensen of New Brighton MN, Daniel Winkels with Vani of Sun Valley NV, Daniel P. and Maria Elana Daly of Portland OR; cousins, Henry and Wyatt Jensen, Lindsey Daly. Jasper was a trombone player in the Corning Painted Post High School Marching Band. He was an avid historian, WW II collector and enjoyed golfing. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church in Corning on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive visitors from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the church. Donations in Jasper's memory may be directed to the family for a foundation to be started in Jasper's name to recognize and prevent cyber bullying and teen suicide in Corning NY and the surrounding counties of Steuben and Chemung.
