Janet Stevens

Age 86, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 11, 2017. Janet was born in Newark NJ, a daughter of Paul and Margaret Brown Schulz. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her sister Julia Bressler. Janet is survived by her loving husband of 61 years Herman E. Stevens; sons with their families, Scott P. and Diane Stevens of Elmira; Thomas F. and Pamela Stevens of Pine City NY with daughter Paula Mae (Jeff) Teeter; Gary E. and Lisa Stevens of South Carolina with sons, Justin and Jared Stevens; Daniel W. Stevens with Monica Fitzgerald of Painted Post and his son Carter Stevens; great-grandchildren, Bradlee and Aubree Teeter; along with several nieces and nephews. Janet was a second grade teacher for the Corning Painted Post School District for over 20 years. She was very involved with quilt making and belonged to several quilting clubs. Janet and her family enjoyed summers on their Keuka Lake home for 30 years. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Those wishing may remember Janet with a donation to the Chemung County SPCA, Route 352, Elmira NY 14903.
