Age 68, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 9, 2017 with his family by his side. Jim was born in Syracuse NY, son of the late James G. and Jeanette (Strunk) Dolph. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Margaret "Peggi" (Constantine) Dolph; daughter and son-in-law, Brittany H. and Aidan Dinneen of Decatur GA who are expecting Jim's first grandchild on June 20th; son Logan J. Dolph of Santa Monica CA with Fredelina "Hope" Garcia; sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and Edwin Hawkes of Wellsburg NY; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Maureen Stachowski of Elmira, Patricia and John DeMuth of Elmira, Donald and Kim Constantine of Flagstaff AZ; several aunts, an uncle, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim was a U.S. Navy veteran. He had worked as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the New York State Commission for the Blind and Visually Handicapped for many years. Jim was a longtime communicant of St. Mary's Church. He had a great love of music and was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan. Spending time with family and friends is what Jim treasured most. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 12:15 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. in St. Mary's Church. Committal prayers and interment, with military honors, will follow at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery.
