James A. Clark, 78, passed away on August 14, 2026 at The Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.

He was born on October 23, 1947, the son of the late Ambrose J. and Louise (Hopkins) Clark.

Jim was a 1966 graduate of Troy High School in Troy, PA.

He honorably served in the U.S. Marines Corps from 1967-1969 during the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of Corporal. He was awarded a Purple Heart for his injuries sustained in combat.

James is predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Lauren.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Clark; brother Dave (Mimi) Clark; nephews, Mike (Toni) Clark, Steve (Holly) Clark, and Jon (Erica) Clark; nieces, Samantha Janeski (Ken Douglas), Trisha Polizzi (Max Summer) and Sara Janeski (Eric Spanbauer) and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the 7th ICU Unit and 6th North Floor at The Robert Packer Hospital for the wonderful care that they provided for James before and upon his death.

Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St. Elmira, on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Fitzsimmons Cemetery, Elmira.
