Age 58, of Dansville NY, formerly of Elmira, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at his Jefferson I.R.A. home. Jimmy was born in Garden City, Long Island on March 9, 1957. He is the son of the late James G., Jr. and Jeanne (Finn) Cipollina. Jimmy was also predeceased by his sister, Jeanne Cipollina. He is survived by his sisters, Patricia M. Lamb and husband Thomas of Elmira, Mary Lou Kinsman and fiancé Steve Croyle of Newfield NY; nephew Todd Lamb of Pittsburgh PA; nieces, Tifanie (Jonathan) Keough of Elmira, Jennifer Miller of Elmira; great nieces and great nephews, Makenna and Matthew Keough, Josey Poyneer and Aubrey Miller. Many people in the Elmira area would know Jimmy from his patterning program in the late 1960's and into the 1970's. He moved to Dansville 40 years ago and was known to make friends easily with anyone he met. He loved music and his favorite song was "Feelings". Jimmy was fascinated by cars and motorcycles. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Elmira. Private burial will take place at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery. Those wishing may make donations in memory of Jimmy to the Hospice of their choice. The Cipollina family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Jimmy's extended family of staff and residents at the Jefferson I.R.A. home, along with Dr. Anthony Witte, for the wonderful care, love and companionship they provided to Jimmy over the years.
