James W. Bowers

Age 81, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021. Jim was born and raised in Austinburg PA, son of the late Robert Bowers, who died in 1945 when he was a prisoner of war during WWII, and Arlene (Walters) Faulkner. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son, Keith Lee Bowers, brother and sister-in-law, John and Nancy Bowers, step-fathers, Donald (Rosie) Steadman and Herbert Faulkner. Jim is survived by his wife of 61 years Pauline Preston Bowers; three sons, Carl (Yuen) Bowers of Windsor VA; Earl Bowers of Kingston RI; Duane (Debbie) Bowers of Hampton, VA; 4 granddaughters, 6 great-grandchildren; sister Jackie (Wayne) Empson of Addison NY; brother Jerry (Kelly) Steadman of New Holland Pike PA; along with many nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Knoxville PA with Rev. Larry O’Dell officiating. Jim’s family would like to thank all his caregivers, Barbara Orr, Douglas Preston, and the folks from CareFirst Hospice.
