Irene Wakefield

Elmira; Age 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Irene was born in Elmira Heights on March 16, 1929 the daughter of Carl and Katherine (Chaban) Hayduk. She was predeceased by daughter Kathy Wakefield; brothers and sisters-in-law, Peter and Marion Hayduk, Andrew "Hank" and Lorraine Hayduk, John and Doris Hayduk; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Leonard "Slip" Kosloski, Sophie and Joe Bilsky. Irene is survived by her husband of 65 years, John E. Wakefield; daughter and son-in-law, Janette M. and David Weaver, Roanoke VA; son and daughter-in-law, John E. Jr. and Sheila Wakefield, Elmira; grandchildren, Jennifer Hodges, David (Rhonada) Weaver, Mary Elizabeth (Alex) Dove, Ann Weaver, Kara (Patrick) McInerny, Ryan Fletcher and Alex Wakefield; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. At Irene's request private services will be held.
