Herman E. Granger

Elmira: Age 93, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre PA, with his family by his side. Herman was born and raised in Elmira a son of Willis E. and Mary (Hewitt) Granger. His wife Regina Mae Granger predeceased him on March 7, 2014. He is also predeceased by brother Charles Granger. Herman is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and James Bernas, Horseheads, Karen and Lawrence Beach, Elmira; grandchildren, Joshua (Katie) Burczynski, Zachary (Megan) Burczynski, Sarah (Christopher) Potts, Corey Bernas; great-grandchildren, David, Matthew, Aaron, and Elizabeth Burczynski, Emily Burczynski, Caleb and Benjamin Potts; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ronald and Marciel Abbey, Endicott; niece Joann Granger. Herman was the Building Inspector in the Town of Elmira for many years. Active in the West Elmira community Herman was a charter member of the West Elmira Volunteer Fire Department, where he used to be a driver/dispatcher. He shared Regina's love of the NY Yankees. Herman was his grandchildren's number one fan, supporting them in whatever activity they were involved with. He was a long- time communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend a graveside service following calling hours at Harkness Cemetery, Springfield PA at 2:00 p.m. If directions are needed to the cemetery, please contact the funeral home.
