Henry Dean

Age 81, of Watkins Glen, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015. He was born in Elmira, NY on May 20, 1933 to the late Henry and Marjorie Dean. Tim graduated from Southside High School in 1951, and earned a Bachelor of Arts from Elmira College. He married Nancy A. Dean of Elmira in 1958 and they lived in western New York for all of their 56 years together. After graduating from high school, Tim enlisted in the Navy during the Korean War and served until 1956. He began his formal training as an electronics technician in the Navy, and his passion for this work continued throughout his life. Tim had a 30 year career with the Federal Aviation Administration and worked in Elmira, Syracuse and Rochester, eventually retiring from the position of Airway Facilities Manager in Rochester, NY. Tim will be remembered for his kindness, honesty, and integrity. His lifelong passions included the building and rebuilding of cars, homes and computers. He was inquisitive, always on the cutting edge of technology, and happily shared his knowledge and skills with everyone. Tim was a dedicated husband and father, and is survived by wife Nancy Dean and three children: Henry "Hank" Dean III of Watkins Glen, NY, Jennifer Templeton of Austin, TX, and Roger Dean of Key West, FL; four grandchildren: Maxwell Dean, Willa Dean, Andrew Templeton, and Tim Templeton. Tim is also survived by sister Daphne Lehman and her husband Jim of Ohio. Friends are invited to join the family as we gather to celebrate Tim's life and memory on Friday, January 23.
