Grace Kunzinger

Grace F. Kunzinger Elmira: Age 89, passed away Friday, March 16, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Grace was born August 14, 1922, a daughter of Frank and Pauline (Greco) Fiore. She is predeceased by her son Paul Kunzinger, sister Ida Fiore, brother Matthew Fiore and sister-in-law Audrey Burton. Grace is survived by her loving family…..her husband of 64 years Edward L. Kunzinger, Jr.; children, with their spouses, Ed and Kathy Kunzinger of Austin TX, Fran and Joe Cerio of Elmira, Steve Kunzinger of Syracuse, David and Teresa Kunzinger of Norwich NY; daughter-in-law Ann Kunzinger of Katy TX; grandchildren, Jeremy (Tammy) Kunzinger of Austin TX, Gloria Kunzinger of Austin TX, Morgan Cerio of NYC, Natalie and Amy Kunzinger of Katy TX, Daniel and Andrew Kunzinger of Syracuse; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Amirah, and Autumn Kunzinger of Austin TX; sisters and brother-in-law, Nettie Fiore, Marie and Jerry Isoldi, all of Waretown NJ; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Perry Fiore of Staten Island NY, Howard and Jean Kunzinger of Bradenton FL, Fred and Joan Kunzinger of Virginia Beach VA, Joan and Tom Litwin of Stony Brook NY, Phyllis Kunzinger of Point Lookout NY, and Tom Burton of Bradenton FL; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Grace studied fashion design, and after graduating from high school she worked in the fashion industry, for several years, in NYC. Her passion for sewing stayed with her throughout her life. In 1965 Grace and her family moved to Elmira. She was recruited by the late Father Paul McCabe to the job of Rectory Cook at Our Lady of Lourdes, a position that she held for 27 years, retiring at the age of 87. Grace was a long time communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Please note the change in service details: Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Sts., on Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be additional calling hours on Monday, March 19, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Grace's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Interment, with committal prayers, will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
