Gloria Costello

Age 83, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Gloria was born in Corning, daughter of the late Raymond and Kathleen (Sweeney) Richardson. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Stephen J. Costello; children with their families, Stephen J. Costello Jr. of Yorktown VA with his son Drew; Eileen M. and Scott Drew of Elmira with her children, Liza and Joseph Pariso; Thomas M. and Mary Lynn Costello of Horseheads with sons, Sean (Shelly Buchy) Costello and Joel Costello; Mary L. and Scott Worden of Vestal NY with sons, Matthew, Daniel and Christopher; Colleen A. and Larry Huffner of Elmira with daughter Emma; great grandchildren, Daniel, Gionni and Louie; sister Marcia Sullivan of Horseheads; brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Jan Richardson of Oregon; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary Esther and John Hintz of Elmira; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Gloria retired from New York Telephone. She dedicated her life to her family. Gloria was selfless, humble and kind. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Elmira at 10:00 a.m. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery. The family will provide flowers. Those wishing may remember Gloria with a donation to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech Street, Johnson City NY 13790, or a charity of ones' choice.
