Obituary

On June 23, 2026, at 12:47 p.m., the world lost one of the most loving and remarkable men anyone could have known. Heaven gained a beautiful angel when Glen F. Rummings peacefully passed away at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, New York, surrounded by his children.

Glen is now reunited with his beloved wife and the many family members and friends who went before him. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose strength, kindness, and unwavering support touched countless lives. He was the foundation of his family and someone who would do anything for the people he loved.

After a long battle with congestive heart failure (CHF) and atrial fibrillation (AFib), Glen is finally at peace. His family also learned after his passing that he had kidney disease that had gone undiagnosed, something they were never informed of during his life.

Glen proudly served his country in the United States Army as a tanker during the 1960s. He carried great pride in his military service and loved his country.

He was also deeply loved by his faithful companions, his dogs, Bear and Princess.

Glen is survived by his daughter, Florence Gifford, and her 3 children of Alabama; his daughter, Teresa Ellis, and her 5 children; his son, Clarence, and his 2 children; his daughter Debbie and Shawn, and their 4 children; his granddaughter Breanna and her 7 children; his granddaughter Courtney and her 3 children; and Shawna, whom Glen helped raise for most of her life He also leaves behind Arianna , his beloved great-granddaughter Izabella-who held a very special place in his heart. Even in his final days, he often asked for her when she wasn't there and spoke lovingly about her until the very end. He is also survived by Juanita and Mikaela whom he lovingly considered his adopted family. They remained by his side, helping care for him and bringing him comfort during his final days.

Glen also leaves behind many other family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory.

Glen will be cremated, and a small memorial service will be held at a later date.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing he is no longer suffering. His love, wisdom, and unforgettable spirit will live on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. The world will never be the same without him.
