Geraldine Miles

Age 89, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 10, 2019. Geraldine was born and raised in Elmira, a daughter of Harry and Nellie (Rowan) Arnold. She is predeceased by her brothers, Charles Arnold, Harry Arnold, and sister Mary Reidy. Along with being his best friend, Geraldine was a loving and devoted wife of 67 years to John Allen Miles, who survives her. She is also survived by her children, with their families: Linda M. Bellgraph of Binghamton with children, Amy and Matthew; John Arnold and Claudia Miles of Charlotte NC with daughter Emily (Joseph) Filc; great grandchildren: Sierra Bellgraph, Graceyn, Molly and Miles Filc; sister Joan Mosher of Horseheads; along with several nieces and nephews. Geraldine worked at Remington Rand where she met her husband. She later worked as a sales associate at Iszard's in the men's department for nearly 30 years. A devout Catholic, Geraldine prayed the rosary daily and was a long time communicant of St. Mary's Church. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother she will be dearly missed. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The rosary will be recited at the conclusion of calling hours. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 11:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Church, Elmira. Interment, with committal prayers, will then take place at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery.
