Geraldine Gabers

March 17, 1923 — February 20, 2016

"Gerry" Age 92 of Elmira, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 20, 2016. Gerry was born in Teaneck NJ a daughter of Francis and Louise Mandik Huber. She was predeceased by her husband Randolph Gabers in 2004. Gerry is survived by son and daughter-in-law Doug and Darlene Muschett of Silverthorne CO; daughter Wendy Gabers of Elmira; son Chris Gabers of Elmira; grandson Scott Muschett of Washington DC; sister Rose Billings; nieces, Bonnie, Robin and Joyce. Gerry was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and was an animal lover, giving many stray cats a forever home. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St. Elmira on Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Committal prayers and interment will take place at Rural Home Cemetery. Those wishing may remember Gerry with a donation to the Chemung County SPCA, Route 352, Elmira NY 14903. Gerry's family would like to give special thanks to the CareFirst Staff, and to Dr. Brian Cassetta, Dr. Charles Collier and nurse Karena Smith, all from Guthrie, for the wonderful care provided.
