Gerald Scanlan

Elmira; Age 86, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015. Jerry was born September 21, 1928 in Elmira the son of Sophia (Remisky) and Gerald F. Scanlan. He was predeceased by his first wife Jean (Kosloski) Scanlan. Jerry is survived by his wife Annabel "Kris" (Krystof) Scanlan; children with their families, Jeff and Crista Scanlan of Charlotte NC with son Ryan; Jen and Keith Cartwright of Elmira with sons Drew and Hunter; Theresa and John Alexander of Virginia with children Richard (Elisa) and Catherine; Stephen and Dawn Pietropaoli of Virginia with sons Daniel and Matthew; Fran and Mark Moore of Virginia with children Nick and Kelsey; Betsy Pietropaoli of New Jersey; Michael and Joan Pietropaoli of New Jersey; Bob and Lori Pietropaoli of Vermont; great granddaughter Nina. Jerry retired as a Senior Vice President from Marine Midland Bank in Elmira with over 40 years of service. He was proud to have served many local families and businesses during his time at the bank. Jerry was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. He was an avid golfer and New York Yankee fan. For many years he was involved with the Elmira All Sports Committee and the Corning LPGA. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery in Horseheads. Donations in memory of Jerry may be made to a charity of one's choice.
