Frances Picarazzi

Fran Age 92, of Elmira, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by the love of her children, on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. Fran was born in Elmira, a daughter of Anthony L. and Anna (Scala) Fusare. Her husband Rocco V. Picarazzi predeceased her on January 24, 2009. She is also predeceased by her sisters, Mary Leggiero and Carmela McCabe and brother Anthony Fusare. Fran is survived by her children, with their families, Peggy Chalk of Elmira and children, Christine (John) Meier and Gregory (Rebecca) Chalk; Robert and Ellen Picarazzi of Celebration FL and son Bobby Picarazzi; Anthony and Deborah Picarazzi of Fredericksburg VA and children, Brian (Robin) Picarazzi, Anthony (Veronica) Picarazzi and Christopher Gosselin; Gerard and Shari Picarazzi of Elmira and daughters, Patricia Picarazzi and Shayla (Jeremy) Hurd; Rocco and Sandy Picarazzi of Elmira and children, Jennifer (JJ) Graham, Angela Picarazzi, Marco (Cheryl) Picarazzi and John Picarazzi; many great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Diane Fusare of Elmira and Harriet Picarazzi of Corning; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Fran was retired from St. Casimir's School where she worked as a secretary. She was a long time communicant of Ss. Peter & Paul Church where she sang in the choir. Fran loved her family, friends, and life. No one visited that didn't leave with a loaf of her famous bread. She was a loving mother and wonderful friend to many. She will be forever deeply missed. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Fran's Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, August 5, 2017, 9:30 a.m., Ss. Peter & Paul Church, 161 High Street, Elmira. Interment, with committal prayers, will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
