Frances Gilbert

Frances R. Gilbert Elmira: Age 88, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Frances was born June 16, 1924, a daughter of William J. and Katherine (Lynch) Wolfe. She is predeceased by her husband Andrew Gilbert, daughter Catherine Rose Gilbert, sister Mary Emmons, and brother William J. Wolfe. Frances is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Jerry Sweeney, Cohoes, NY; son Daniel J. Gilbert, Elmira; grandchildren, Kelly (Joseph) Ahearn, Timothy Sweeney, Colleen (Mark) Titus, Patricia (Jason) Schmelze, Geri Ann Sweeney, and Daniel R. (Jill) Sweeney; 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; special niece Sheila Hungerford; along with many other nieces and nephews. Frances was a very fun loving person who enjoyed spending her summer days next to the pool with family and friends. She had a smile that will always be remembered. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Private interment will take place at Woodlawn National Cemetery.
