Horseheads: Age 81, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021. Floyd was born in Armenia Mountain PA, a son of Stephen F. Seeley and Bertha Bryington. He is predeceased by brother Robert Seeley. Floyd is survived by his wife of 58 years Jeanne Keating Seeley; feline buddy Bentley; daughter Christine M. Meehan of Elmira with her sons Brett and Todd (Colleen) Meehan; son and daughter-in-law Stephen E. and Deborah Seeley of Breesport with children, Julina (Jay) Sabo, Rhett, and Chelsey Seeley; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Teri Alyce Keating of Santa Barbara CA with canine nephew Sammy, Tom and Maryellen Keating of Acworth GA with children, Shannon (Ian) Lindsay, Megan (David) Carson, Thomas Jr. (Amy) Keating; along with several great-nieces and great-nephews. Floyd was a U S Navy veteran serving his country from 1958 – 1960. He had a variety of jobs throughout his life. Floyd worked at several New York State correctional facilities, retiring from the Elmira Correctional Facility. While working for corrections he went to school to obtain his beautician license, which he put to use while working in the Catskills. Floyd later worked for Spotts Awning in Horseheads, installing custom window treatments, a job he truly enjoyed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Floyd on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira. A livestream of the Mass will be available through the Facebook page for Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (https://www.facebook.com/ElmiraCatholic). Masks are requested at church. Interment with committal prayers and military honors, will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Horseheads. Those wishing may remember Floyd with a donation to Guthrie Corning Cancer Center, 2 Guthrie Drive, Corning NY 14930.
