Elmira: Age 77, passed away at her home, after a long illness, on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Jane was born August 18, 1936 in Schenectady NY the daughter of the late Walter and Ellen Beattie. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Peter S. Booth; children, with their families, J. Walter and Jill Booth, Elmira, and children, Emma and John Hunter; Betsy and Mark Scalco, Durham NC; Jeannette and Andrew Colucci, Pine City, and son Caleb; Mary and Tom Tebo, Horseheads, and children, Thomas and Gunnar; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Susan Beattie, Herb Beattie and Mary Ellen Summer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law J. Seeley and Anne Booth; along with several nieces and nephews. Growing up, Jane lived in Syracuse and then Hamilton NY, and was a graduate of St. Lawrence University. Jane was an active member of the Elmira community involved with many organizations and a board member of The Park Church, Steele Memorial Library, American Red Cross, Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Home for the Aged (Woodbrook) and the Junior League. Friends are invited to the Booth Family home, 826 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held for Jane on Monday, January 27, 2014, 11:30 a.m. at The Park Church, 208 West Gray Street, Elmira.
