Eleanor Novick

Elmira: Age 91, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015. Eleanor was born in Elmira, August 8, 1924, a daughter of Julia (Bulas) and Vincent T. Novick. She is predeceased by her brother Robert Nowaczyk. Eleanor is survived by her sister Helen E. Wojcik of Denville NJ; Helen's children, Tom, Marty, Paul, Steve Wojcik and their families, Annette Conciatori and her family; Robert's children, Steve, Jane and Ann, and their families; along with many great-nieces and great-nephews. Eleanor was retired from Bendix Corp, where she worked for over 37 years. She lived with her parents and as they grew older, caring tirelessly for them until they died. A lover of parakeets, Eleanor always had 5 or 6 of them, at a time, as pets. A devout Catholic she was a long time communicant of St. Casimir's Church and also went to the Dominican Monastery. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 12:15 p.m., followed by a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Casimir's Church. Interment, with committal prayers, will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
