formally of Elmira, NY, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, with her family by her side. She was born to the late William and Mervil Smith on January 9, 1928 in Bradford County Pennsylvania. Most recently she lived with her daughter Mary Ann, in South Carolina. She was married to Raymond Lyle Covey. They are survived by daughters, Joanne Barkan (Jan Barkan), Mary Game (David W. Game (deceased), and Rae Covey; along with beloved grandchildren, Adam and Sean Sansiveri, Cheryl Barkan, Craig Barkan (Marilynn), great-grandsons, Andrew and William; and sister Marian Murray. She is also survived by dear ones, Janet Hale, Ann James, Barb Donovan, and Gerry DeRenzo. Eleanor was predeceased by her loving husband in 1984. Eleanor loved to dance, classic country music, classic movies, and playing Skip Bo with the girls. She enjoyed working for Judge Swartwood, her friends at the A&P Plant, and later in life at Family Services where many of her client's family members called her an 'angel' on Earth. She passed her love of family and friends along to all lucky enough to know her. Per her request, burial will be in Bradford County at the convenience of the family. Eleanor was a long-time supporter of St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
