Dorothy A. Earley

Elmira: Age 87, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. Dorothy was born and raised in Elmira, a daughter of James J. and Adelaide (Brewer) Dalton. She is predeceased by her husband Edward W. Earley and brothers, Lawrence A. and Richard L. "Dick" Dalton. Dorothy is survived by her children, all of Elmira, and their families: Gary K. and Mary Jo Earley with children, Erin (Zach) and Patrick (Kristine)…Donald E. and Lynn Earley with children, Matthew, Thomas and Hannah…Dennis J. Earley with children, Timothy (Katie) and Daniel (Emily)…Sheila A. and John Wakefield with children, Kara McInerny, Ryan (Katelin) Fletcher and Alexandra Wakefield…Susan M. and A.J. Carozzoni with children, Joseph, Nicholas, Jack and Ally; great grandchildren, Aubrey and Callan McInerny, Mariah Earley and a soon to be great-grandson, Harrison Edward Earley; sisters-in-law Marilyn Dalton and Marsha Earley; along with several nieces and nephews.



Dorothy was a friend of Bill W. and was devoted to helping others in their journey. Dorothy was an avid bridge player, enjoying a good game whenever she could. She was a long-time communicant of St. Patrick's Church. The best times for Dorothy were when she was with her family. Dorothy made many friends during her years at Woodbrook and her family is very appreciative of the care she received from the excellent staff. The family is also very thankful for the care and compassion of longtime family friend Dr. Dakaar Reddy. She will be forever loved and missed.


Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W Water Street, Elmira, on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira. Interment, with committal prayers, will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
