Dolores F. Jessick

Elmira: Age 87, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. Dolores was born and raised in Elmira the daughter of Andrew J. and Frances (Golata) Jessick. She is survived by her cats, J.J. and Tobey, who were her family, along with several cousins and many good friends.

Dolores was a 1956 graduate of Elmira Free Academy. After high school she started what would be a 47-year career with Chemung Canal Trust Company. While at the bank she made many lasting friendships. An amateur photographer Dolores was the official photographer at many banking events. She also loved taking pictures of wildlife, with eagles and snow owls being her favorites. The past few years she took up birding, which went perfectly with her photography. In her younger years Dolores enjoyed ice-skating, cross-country skiing, and traveling. After retiring Dolores looked forward to monthly luncheons with her friends from the banking.

She was a long-time communicant of St. Mary’s Church.

Services for Dolores will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at St. Mary’s Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment, with committal prayers, will then take place at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery.
