Dennis Zepp, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 23, 2025. Born and raised in Elmira, Dennis spent his life rooted in the community he loved, leaving behind a legacy of devotion to family, hard work, and unforgettable stories. He was predeceased by his father, Gary Zepp; mother, Arlene Croft Osborne; his beloved wife of more than 54 years, Angela Cerio Zepp; son, Michael Zepp; sister, Patricia Cummings; and brother-in-law, Joseph Cerio. Dennis is survived by his daughters Michelle Troccia and Lisa Camacho (Carl); daughter-in-law Martha Zepp; and his cherished grandchildren: Craig (Jeanette) Troccia, Heather (Reynaldo) Rios, Danielle (Joseph) Rocchi, Nicole Troccia, Jessica (Thomas) Watkins, Erica (John Bell) Zepp, Jared Zepp, and Brandon Zepp. He is also survived by his sisters- and brother-in-law Suzanne Cerio West, Richard and Mary Jane Cerio, Fran Cerio, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Above all else, Dennis loved his family deeply. One of the most cherished memories his grandchildren carry is how he made it a point every Christmas to travel from home to home, just to watch each child open their presents. He believed in truly being in the moment and found genuine joy in witnessing the excitement, laughter, and wonder on their faces each Christmas morning. These moments were sacred to him — and unforgettable to those who shared them. Dennis was a proud and dedicated member of IBEW Union Local #86 and worked as an electrician throughout the United States. He made it a point to attend as many union meetings as possible, no matter the distance, believing strongly in the importance of brotherhood, service, and staying connected to his fellow tradesmen. He was known by all who loved him as a man who “had a story for everything.” His favorite pastime was reliving memories with family, especially recounting the many places he traveled for work — vividly recalling the buildings he wired and the people he met along the way. A self-proclaimed lead-foot and devoted Formula One fan, Dennis treasured his once-in-a-lifetime experience of riding in a Formula One car at Watkins Glen. Each morning, rain or shine, he could be found walking to his favorite gathering spot, Cozy Corners, never turning down a cup of coffee and always ready for a good conversation with familiar faces and new friends alike. Family and friends are invited to gather at McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 4:30 p.m. Dennis’ stories, laughter, devotion, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
