David Schiefen

David M. Schiefen "Gus" Elmira: Age 44, passed away very unexpectedley, as the result of a heart attack, on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Gus was born in Elmira September 5, 1968, a son of the late Elizabeth (Reidy) and William J. Schiefen. He is also predeceased by his brother William. Gus is survived by his sisters, Elizabeth Joan (Mark) Fraiser, Dripping Springs TX, Kathleen Ann Hass, Humble TX, Kara Jane Garza, Houston TX, Helen Patricia Schiefen, Elmira; aunts and uncles, Harry Reidy, Elmira, Helen McInerney, Oak Ridge TN, Winifred Widman, Elmira, Richard and Teresa Reidy, Elmira, John Schiefen, Houston TX, Robert Schiefen, Houston TX; special friend Kim Parker; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Gus was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and Cazanovia College. He was a chef for a number of years at Pierce's Restaurant in Elmira Heights. For the past several years Gus was a Corrections Officer at Southport Correctional Facility. He was a longtime dedicated volunteer fireman with the West Elmira Volunteer Fire Department. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Gus on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
