David Lee Crouthamel

age 50, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023, with his family by his side, at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio. David was born in Elmira, the son of David E. Crouthamel and Ellen G. (Webster) Benjamin. David is survived by his children, Brittany Crouthamel with Anthony Davis of Virginia and their two sons, Beckham and Londyn…Alexis Crouthamel with her children, Camden, Ahmariana, MaeAnna and Tobias of Elmira, Brenden Crouthamel with son LaiKynn of Elmira…Codi Crouthamel of Elmira…Hailey Ann Crouthamel Elmira…Kyleigh Newton of KY and Landon Crouthamel of Elmira; mother and stepfather Ellen and Robert Benjamin of Elmira; father David Crouthamel of Elmira; sister and brothers, Melissa Crouthamel of Elmira, Jason Crouthamel with Christin Nemier of Syracuse, Robert Benjamin with wife Jenna of Elmira; nephews and nieces, Jake Brooks III with daughter Xa’Mira of Elmira, Tyrell Morgan with Marisol and their children, Ka’Siah, Ja’Niah, Ty’Liah ,Tyrell Jr of Aiken, SC, Aneesah Morgan with daughter Ri’Ni of Elmira, Justin Mundt with Lauren Sullivan and their son Kai’Axton of Elmira ..Arabella Benjamin of Elmira, Alaina Benjamin of Elmira; life-long friend Miles (Athena) Barnes of Horseheads, special cuz Slicky Ricky of Elmira; along with other family and friends.

Dave proudly served his country in the US Marines Corps…. “Semper Fi”. He was an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins, NY Yankees, and the North Carolina Tar Heels. Dave loved the outdoors and was happiest when he was fishing and camping.

Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Monday, August 21, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m., with military honors accorded at the conclusion of the service.

David’s family would like to thank his special nurses, Nancy Mary Berry and Vinnie, and all the LVAD Team surgeons, doctors, and nurses of Cleveland Clinic Ohio.
