Dale P. Sheehan

Elmira: Age 75, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Dale was born in Elmira, a son of Howard and Mildred (Vesneske) Sheehan. In addition to his parents Dale is predeceased by his brother Mark Lyle Sheehan in 2012 and brother-in-law Francis Affeldt in 2020.

He is survived by his siblings, Paula Affeldt, Donna Sheehan (Gregg Allen), and Tom Sheehan; sister-in-law Betty Sheehan; along with many nieces and nephews.

Dale served in the US Army from 1968 until 1970, serving on the 38th parallel where he drove large oil tankers. He then worked for the post office for several years maintaining and operating the mail sorting machinery. Dale volunteered for the VA, driving vets to their appointments from Elmira to the Bath VA.

Family and friends are invited to Dale’s service on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn National Cemetery, 1825 Davis Street, Elmira.
