Claudia Bailey

Claudia M. Bailey Elmira: Age 91, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her bedside on Thursday, June 21, 2012. Claudia was born in Costa Rica on February 19, 1921, one of seven children to Pedro and Lydia Hernandez. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Walter E. Bailey; children with spouses, Carlos and Marcia Mejia, Atlanta GA, Claudia and Richard Olson, Cortland NY, Roxanna and David Merriam, Jackson MS, Paul Bailey, Horseheads; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; sister Virella Russo, Knoxville TN; brother-in-law Donald Bailey, Tampa FL; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Claudia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved to cook, take care of her home and family. She also enjoyed Spanish culture. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Streets, on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at St. Patrick's Church at 10:00 a.m. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
