Age 50, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021, as the result of Covid-19. Chris is predeceased by David Ripley, Robert Pierce, maternal grandparents James and Alberta White, paternal grandparents Alan and Dorothy Pierce. Chris is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Karyn Cox Ripley of Elmira; sons, Jared, Jordon (Julia Holleran) and Jace Ripley; parents Karen and James Carpenter of Elmira Heights; siblings, David (Nora) Ripley, Jr., of Elmira, Melissa (Randy) Parker of Horseheads, Corey (Missy) Ripley of Elmira Heights, Jim (Jessica) Carpenter of Big Flats, Andy Pierce and Ben (Hannah) Pierce, both of Elmira; mother-in-law and father-in-law Mary and Bill Cox of Horseheads; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Abbie and Dennis Motsco of Bethesda MD; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends, who became family to Chris, Karyn and the boys. Chris was a 1989 graduate of Horseheads High School. He was a 23-year employee with the Chemung County Sewer District. A founding member of the Chemung Valley Bass Masters Fishing Club, Chris enjoyed fishing all the local lakes, with a special fondness for Keuka Lake. Chris was a life-long NFL Raiders fan and was also a fan of the Atlanta Braves, NY Rangers and an avid NASCAR fan, with Dale Earnhardt, Sr. being his favorite driver. Chris enjoyed coaching his sons in their various sports activities. He had a special bond with his sons, cherishing every moment spent with them. Chris will forever be loved and missed by his family and friends. There will be no funeral services. Arrangements by McInerny Funeral Home.
