Cheryl Ann Granger

October 5, 1969 — July 9, 2023

Age 53, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Cheryl was born in Elmira, a daughter of Elizabeth McCormick Palmer and the late Robert Woodruff. In addition to her father, she is predeceased by lifelong partner Lee Roy Dickerson; siblings, Roxanne Woodruff, Robert Woodruff, Jr. and Theresa Fields; nephew Jeremy Shazer; father-in-law and mother-in-law Robert and Mable Dickerson. In addition to her mother Cheryl is survived by daughter Ashley (Stanley) Mathews; sons, Tony Dickerson and Michael (Tanisha) Dickerson; grandchildren, Kaylee (Leon) Daniels, Kaleb Daniels, Konnor Daniels, Alexis Dickerson, Brayden Dickerson, Mason Dickerson, Laekynn Dickerson, Paige Mathews, Seneca Mathews, Tanner Varbal, Sierra Johnson, Brody Stone, Abby, Natalie, Paizley and Bentley; brother Gary (Ginna) McCormick; sisters, Robbin Granger, Lucinda Brooks, Holly (Wayne) Brooks and Rebecca (Jamie) Woodruff; nieces and nephews, Dez Flint, Cheyanne Field, Santana Parker, Anderson (Jenn) Brooks, Mary Brooks, La La (Woo) Brooks, Little Alfie (Nyca) Brooks, Shala Brooks, Dom (Shaynita) Brooks, Bub (Josanne) Brooks, Vahnjordon Woodruff, Jahkia Hilliard, Ahquille Woodruff, Billy (Tasha) Rogers; several other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; extended family, Doris and Don Ammerman and family, Sarah and Karl Gehring, Jody Brooks, Amy and Tony Jerzak, Pat and Chuck Mathews, Kay and Chuck Latimer, special little boy Jamison Root, Pat and Kenny Norton, Angie Brown, Amber Gillette, Nicole Williams and Brittany Stone; sister dog Nyla.


Cheryl enjoyed playing bingo, the card game Quarters and board games Aggravation and Sorry. Her children and grandchildren were everything to her. Cheryl enjoyed watching her boys race weekly and spending time with her grandchildren, especially Laekynn.


Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. An informal funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Cemetery services will take place at a later date. Following the funeral services a repass will take place at the Queen City Elks Club, 726 Benjamin Street in Elmira.
