Charles Prechtl

"Chuck" Age 81, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Bath VA Medical Center. Chuck was born in Corning, a son of the Charles L. Sr. and Catherine Belin Barnes. He is predeceased by his first wife Mary Farrell Prechtl and sister Madeline Andrews. Chuck is survived by his son Russell F. Prechtl; siblings, Sandra (Joe) Harvey, Patricia Hughes, Ruth (Bob) Sharkey, Joyce (George) Folckemer, Mary Beth Prechtl, Michael (Joan) Prechtl; several nieces and nephews. Chuck was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was retired from Facet in Elmira Heights. Chuck enjoyed the hobbies of hunting, fishing and engraving. Private family services will be held. Donations in memory of Chuck may be directed to the Bath VA, Volunteers Hospice Unit, 76 Veterans Avenue, Bath NY 14810. Chuck's family wishes to acknowledge the staff at Arnot Ogden Medical Center and the Bath VA Hospice Unit for the exceptional care given to Chuck.
