Charles Milazzo

Age 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 3, 2019. Chuck was born and raised in Elmira a son of Charles D., Sr. and Emma (Cicconi) Milazzo. He is predeceased by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Richard and Dorothy Milazzo, Salvatore and Jean Milazzo; sister and brother-in-law: Angeline and Daniel Donahoe; special niece Madeleine Sweeney and nephew Frank Gush. Chuck is survived by his nephews: Earl Justin (Teri) Edwards, Michael (Carol) Edwards, Richard (JoAnn) Milazzo, Charles (Sue) Milazzo; nieces: Patricia Gush, Kathleen (Paul) Murphy, Sheila Edwards; along with many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews. As a child Chuck became ill with a fever that affected his development. From that time on he was lovingly cared for by his parents, siblings, nieces and nephews. In 2008 Chuck was fortunate to come under the care of ARC. He moved in the ARC Smith Road residence in Pine Valley and later to the Liberty Street residence in Elmira. Chuck loved watching television, with his favorites being old westerns on the Turner Classic Movies channel. He enjoyed all kinds of foods, going out to eat, and cars, especially Chevrolets. Many may remember Chuck sweeping the floor at the Sanitary Barber Shop, the Milazzo family business. Chuck was a long time communicant of St. Mary’s Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Chuck on Monday, January 14, 2019, St. Mary’s Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery.
